And remember, EVERY vote counts so PLEASE vote!!
There are approximately 13,500 registered voters in the City of Westbrook. Our municipality is divided into five Wards, two State Senate Districts (26 & 27) and three State Representative Districts (126, 127 & 128). Each municipal Ward has a designated City Councilor and School Committee Member. In addition, the City Council and School Committee each have two At-Large positions tasked with representing the municipality as a whole.
The Westbrook Community Center (426 Bridge Street) is the sole polling location for all Westbrook voters. Polls are open each Election Day from 6am - 8pm.
Absentee voting is a convenient alternative to voting in-person on Election Day, allowing voters to obtain and vote their ballots either by mail or at City Hall prior to each Election Day. Please note that all absentee ballots must be returned to City Hall by 8pm on Election Day to be counted.
To register to vote in the City of Westbrook, you must meet the following criteria:
You may register to vote in person at City Hall, by mail or at the polls on Election Day. You may be asked to provide proof of identity (such as your Maine Driver's License, State ID or the last four digits of our Social Security Number) and/or proof of your Westbrook residency (such as your Maine Driver's License showing your current Westbrook address, or a utility bill) to complete your voter registration record. For additional information, please contact 207-591-8116.
The State of Maine also allows online voter registration at this site. Keep in mind there is a deadline date for this and after that deadline you will need to register in person.
The November 5th election is expected to have a heavy turnout so if you want to avoid the lines on election day then Absentee Voting is a great solution! You can request a ballot via phone or mail or can even vote in person at City Hall. Full details are available on the City website.
Ranked Choice Voting will be used for the first time in this year's municipal election. Watch this video to understand how your votes are counted. There are 3 candidates for Mayor so this will come into play. If you have your heart on voting for one of the opposing Mayoral candidates, I would appreciate it if you would choose me as your 2nd candidate! Thank you!
