I am a life-long Mainer. I grew up in Raymond, graduated from Windham HS and have lived in Westbrook for almost 30 years. My husband, Shawn, and I have been married for 22 years and we met while I was an Administrative Assistant to the Westbrook Fire Chief, Byron Rogers. At that time, Shawn was a firefighter and also had a business repairing fire trucks. Since then, Shawn has gone on to work full-time for the City as the Emergency Vehicle Technician for the Police Department.
We live at the dead end of Austin Street on Adams Way on property where my husband was raised by his grandmother. My parents built a house across from us so we could help them as they aged. My father, Ron Morton, passed away in 2016 from Colon Cancer. My mother still resides there and is a member of the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church and the Westbrook Women's Group. We love having her live close by so we can help her continue to live independently.
We don't have any children, but we pour our love into our adopted family members....dogs:) We have rescued multiple dogs over the years and the most recent addition to our family is our girl, Brook, named after Westbrook! She is a Lab, Shepherd and Pit Bull mix which explains why she is SO smart! She gets along with everyone and you may even see me walking her around our great City!
Activities I enjoy are camping, kayaking/boating, swimming, hiking, dancing, traveling, riding my motorcyle (Canam Ryker) and singing (I'm the lead singer of the rock band Sibling Rivalry where I share the spotlight with my brother, Tom)!
I am also super passionate about everything health and wellness related. I was the creator and host for 4 years of the radio show/podcast, Success Balanced Living (WMPG) and Living Life with Lynda show (WLOB), where I interviewed local non-profit organizations as well as Integrative/Alternative Practitioners on health related topics. I obtained my certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in 2021 and love to help people get healthy: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I believe in finding the root cause of medical related issues instead of just treating the symptoms. Food is medicine and I love sharing what I have learned to help people make better choices to improve their health!
